I played in the dirt! And out came a skirt!

I used an old t-shirt of my husbands for the under layer.

Through the trails and errors of this simple skirt, I have learned so much. Next time around it will be an easier process, no doubt. Why must I always learn the hard way? It's the best way I know how sometimes. This is a project I'd been contemplating for a while now. After reading a very encouraging email http://us1.campaign-archive.com/?u=a8d54b6cc495ed62834c4e432&id=5aff70daa1&eo=516197a281 (you must read) from Tara Gentile, I decided to dive in head first. Thank you Tara for helping me get dirt under my nails. I feel that divine sense of accomplishment.

Breath taking

This is just an amazing Foto! If I could be anywhere this morning, this would be the place. I was shocked to find that this is in PA. Thanks so much Tara Gentile for sharing. For more of her breath taking Fotos visit http://fotos.taragentile.com/

In-spi-ra-tion

stimulation or arousal of the mind, feelings, etc, to special or unusual activity or creativity

Inspiration comes in many different forms. Things that inspire me, may not inspire you. I am always looking for inspiration. I even keep a journal of things that tickle my creative nerve. I have pictures, drawings, articles, stuff from my kids, anything that keeps my creative wheels turning in there. It's been very helpful. When I'm feeling down or just have creative blockage, I like to pull that journal out. Often times I like looking at fellow Etsy members for inspiration too. Especially the Etsy articles, they're great.

Lately I have been blessed with a new kind of inspiration. I have had the honor of being featured on a Etsy treasury and a couple of blogs by fellow Etsy users. This honor alone can seem minimal to some, but not me. It's exciting and inspirational. My most recent experience is thanks to ifrogcrafts.blogspot.com. The most rewarding part of being featured was not to see my item displayed but to read how that item became a part of the post. Karalee's (creator of ifrogcrafts.blogspot.com) postings are heaven sent. You must read http://ifrogcrafts.blogspot.com/2010/10/returns.html. Thanks Karalee for inspiring me.

For the month of September our Pastor, Dr. Michael Maiden, did a 4 part sermon on Create. Reminding us that our lives are defined, controlled and limited by what we think and believe. When we change what we think and believe, it opens a door of new possibilities. Also, Without Him we can do nothing! Pumpkin Carving!

We have made some really amazing pumpkins over the years. We've tried to keep photos of most but there are some that didn't make the portfolio. Check out past years pumpkin carvings at http://knackcreations.blogspot.com/p/pumpkins.html

Our Awesome Kitchen...

My hubby sure can get down in the kitchen. He made pumpkin and pineapple empanadas. I made almond butter biscotti. It was all amazing. Along with the best cup of brew, (made by yours truly) ummmm.
